"EHS won the Charleston Red Gold Tournament for the first time in years kicking the season off with a record of 4-0, showing the potential that this team has. On Saturday, EHS defeated St. Thomas More 1-0 to get to the Championship game to take down Mattoon 4-0. Over the tournament we had a total of 15 goals scored with 1 goal against. Our first game of the day against St. Thomas More was a tight game ending 1-0 with the goal scored by Maicol Sefton coming from a great assist from Sebastian Simoni. Brady Wilson kept the clean sheet with 1 save on the day. The championship game against Mattoon ended 4-0 including goals scored by Maicol Sefton, Gage Kinder, Camilo Aden, & Sebastian Simoni. Andrew Wagoner showed his team first mentality setting up 2 assists. Maicol Sefton added to his goal scored with an assist, as well as Kael Allison chipping in an assist. Goalkeeper Brady Wilson had another strong performance with a 6 save clean sheet. The team continues to show a lot of promise and strong teamwork. We ended the tournament with our best game of the tournament where the team showed unselfish play through quality passing, defending, and setting each other and the team up for success. As we look ahead to next week, we hit the road to take on Apollo Conference opponent Mahomet Seymour on Tuesday. We then go to St. Anthony on Wednesday and have our first home game on Thursday against Vandalia! Make plans to come support the team this week!" -Head Coach, Logan Arney
